Winning Against 80:1 Odds – What it Means For You!

It’s not who does or does NOT BELIEVE in you.

It’s NOT HOW you start.

It’s NOT WHERE you start from.

It’s always... HOW YOU FINISH that matters.

And that begins with mindset... Do YOU believe? I t doesn’t matter what others think. That’s irrelevant.

Rich Strike won when the “experts” said the odds were 80:1 against him, but his trainer, his jockey and Rich Strike together, defied the odds and won the biggest horse racing upset in the last 100 years!

As amazing as that race was, I want to tell you about a man who had to overcome odds so overwhelming, he would have made Rich Strike look like a front runner.

His name is Peter J. Daniels. His impact on the world has gone uncelebrated by many, but unforgettable by millions who have heard his story and heeded his advice.

Born into poverty as a 3^rd generation welfare recipient, he never passed a grade of school and at age 26 was a functionally illiterate bricklayer working in the hot Australian sun with a wife and small children to support.

His start was dubious. At school, he was older than the other kids and put in a special class for brain damaged children. Then one day, he got a new teacher who said “He’s not brain damaged... He’s just stupid!” and told him that he would never amount to anything.

But in 1959, at 26 years of age while at a Billy Graham crusade, he made a decision to follow Christ and faced his future, believing he was the son of a king.

That change in mindset altered the course of his life. He saw everything through that grid. He went into sales but couldn’t read the order forms, so he had the customers fill out their own orders. And despite being color blind, he became the number one paint salesman in all of Australia.

From there he went into business and failed three times in a row! Most would give up. His wife suggested he get a job with the city picking up trash, because at least it was steady pay.

Instead, he took her to a high point overlooking the city and told her something she could scarcely come to terms with. He told her why he had failed up until then and what he was going to do differently.

He went back into business a fourth time (after paying off all his debts with a sales job) and became exceedingly wealthy.

Kings and presidents, the rich and famous all reached out to him to find his secrets, but he kept them close to the vest.

Recently Peter Daniels, now age 90, reached out to me, to give what he says is the last interview he will ever do. (We thought last year would be it, but he wanted one more opportunity to tell his story to the world!)

Knowing this was a once in a lifetime interview, I decided to share that opportunity with a few leaders in the Christian online business space. (The Benham brothers, Myron Golden, Os Hillman, Joseph Peck, Shane Sams and Patrice Tsague)

We all had the chance to record some questions for Mr. Daniels that would unlock things that he wanted to make sure were passed on to the next generation.
