It doesn’t take any special discernment to know there’s a storm brewing. There will always be storms and rumors of storms. That’s the world we live in.
The question is… How will you survive the next one? And perhaps even more poignantly… How can you advance during the storm instead of retreat and give up ground?
For some, thinking about business when there’s the threat of a major storm, seems counterintuitive, even unspiritual. But the reality is that while major disruptions in economies happen due to sudden market reversals, wars, etc., economies never stop progressing.
People have to eat, have shelter, travel, etc. Those demands may contract, but they don’t stop. And when those storm clouds now coming into view, begin to crowd out the sun, and that rumbling sound you hear, indicates it will soon be upon us, how will you fare?
The time to prepare for the storm is before it arrives!
When times are good and economies are expanding, you can be half-hearted and unskilled in business and still do moderately well, but when the inevitable contraction happens (and the next one is already forming), a whole lot of businesses go under.
They go under for lack of one thing… the number of available prospects or customers. Think of it like a game of musical chairs. Every time the music stops, there’s one less chair (customer) and someone goes out of business.
In times of economic contraction, a lot of “chairs” get removed and the remaining service providers all scramble to get their share of what’s left. And many don’t make it!
If you have substantial financial reserves you can ride out the storm. But if you’re like most people, your financial reserves aren’t deep enough to withstand a sustained storm. If that’s you, there’s one skill you need, and once you have it, you can sail through any storm and harness the wind to propel you far ahead of your competitors.
That skill is simply… LEAD GENERATION… the ability to attract your ideal customer in a shrinking market to your business in sufficient quantity to not only maintain, but also to continue growing and expanding.
Catch this truth: … “In times of prosperity, you should advertise. In times of hardship, you must advertise.”
McGraw Hill studied the recession that occurred between 1980 and 1985. Their study involved 600 companies from 16 different industries. Those companies who chose to be bold and advertise while others were retreating, experienced a sales increase rate that was 14 times higher than those who held back!
Why? Because they were the only ones visible in the storm. Their competitors were hunkered down waiting for the storm to pass. And while they waited, the bold ones, scooped up great swaths of market share.
People wonder if advertising works, but of course it does. Otherwise the industry would have died out centuries ago. The real question is… Does your advertising, your website, your social media post bring you a steady flow of quality leads on demand and at will?
I’ve spent years studying the ways of God and how those ways apply to business. During that time, I discovered the most remarkable marketing and lead generation strategies known to man, and they didn’t come from some guru. They came from God as revealed in Scripture and modeled in the created order.
Things like how the marketing secrets of Isaiah as discovered in Isaiah 11 or the 7-part strategy God gave Habakkuk to get his message out to a wayward generation. Or consider John the Baptist who was given the task to “roll out” the welcome mat and prepare the way for the Messiah. He had a seven-fold mandate given by God in Isaiah 40.
Of course the ultimate example was Jesus and the threefold strategy Jesus used to build a following that literally changed the world. Then there are several “marketing” strategies modeled in Natural Law.
If you learn those strategies and practice them, you need never fear the next storm.
In case you don’t see my emails in the next few days, I want to thank you for reading my blogs and sharing my videos.
