# 1 Marketing Secret of Solomon

By Michael Q. Pink

Consistency.

I heard about a billionaire that started with nothing, and began putting together creative vacation experiences that eventually developed loyal fans from the ranks of the rich and famous.

When asked about the reason for his success, he said words to the effect… “I just kept doing it for 60 years. Eventually you get really good at it and word spreads.”

So now think about Solomon. He’s fairly well known. Was rather wealthy too. (1 Kings 3:13) How did that happen?

1 Kings 4:29-32 says, “And God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore.  Thus Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the men of the East and all the wisdom of Egypt.  For he was wiser than all men—than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was in all the surrounding nations. He spoke THREE THOUSAND PROVERBS, and HIS SONGS WERE ONE THOUSAND AND FIVE. Also he spoke of trees, from the cedar tree of Lebanon even to the hyssop that springs out of the wall; he spoke also of animals, of birds, of creeping things, and of fish. And MEN OF ALL NATIONS, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom, CAME TO HEAR the wisdom of Solomon.”

I want you to make the connection here… Solomon was a prolific writer.

In today’s world, (if he wasn’t a king) Solomon would be called a “thought leader” or a blogger, even a YouTuber.

As a result of his CONSISTENT CONTENT PUBLISHING, he developed a following and reputation so strong, that “men of all nations” came to hear his wisdom. (That’s a lot of followers!)

Of course, the content had to be good, but his source of wisdom was God.

So here’s the formula…

    1. He sought and got his WISDOM FROM GOD. (Galatians 1:12)
    2. He wrote and distributed (PUBLISHED) that wisdom and asked his readers to share his “post” (Colossians 4:16).
    3. He did that CONSISTENTLY. (Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon, and possibly Hebrews and an additional epistle to the church in Corinth (1 Cor 5:9) and one to Laodicea that we don’t have copies of.

  1. When he wasn’t writing, he was speaking the revelations God gave him, leading to millions coming to Christ in Asia minor. (Solomon apparently did a lot of speaking too.)

So, if you want to have influence in the world and don’t have a ton of money to spend on advertising, follow the formula that Solomon, David, Paul, Moses and the prophets of old used with great effect. (1) Hear from God (2) Publish by any means possible and (3) Keep doing that consistently.

And if you’re even remotely interested in learning a great deal more from God’s Word about how to get your message out to the masses effectively and economically, and generate more leads than you can handle, then I urge you to read this time sensitive post (THE ULTIMATE MARKETING BUNDLE) now.

    1. Getting his WISDOM from God (Psalm 16:7)
    2. PUBLISHING it (Book of Psalms)
    3. Doing that CONSISTENTLY. (Approximately 75 psalms over a period of several years)

  1. When you think about it, the Apostle Paul is probably the most read Apostle in the New Testament. His letters have been posted and read countless billions of times. His blog posts (epistles) went viral. How did that happen? Same process…

    1. Ask God for WISE INSIGHTS that demonstrate you have understanding (James 1:5)
    2. PUBLISH THEM where people can see them (Psalm 68:11, Habakkuk 2:2, Book of Proverbs)
    3. Do that CONSISTENTLY (3,000 proverbs + 1005 songs) over the long term (Psalm 19:1-2)

  1. I’ve heard for years about content being king and how important it is to publish good content, but it wasn’t until this past week, that I made the connection that Solomon did exactly that, and as a result, his fame spread throughout the world.

His proverbs went viral!

But Solomon wasn’t the only one, nor was he the first. His father, King David wrote about half of the 150 Psalms in the Bible, which is perhaps the most read book in the Bible. He followed the same 3-step process of:

    1. Getting his WISDOM from God (Psalm 16:7)
    2. PUBLISHING it (Book of Psalms)
    3. Doing that CONSISTENTLY. (Approximately 75 psalms over a period of several years)
