The War No One is Talking About (Ignore at your own peril)

There is a battle raging against mankind. It dates back to Genesis 3. The enemy of the human race has a hierarchy with Satan as the defacto leader.

After man fell in Eden, and after Babel, we see there were spiritual entities that ruled over nations. Daniel 10:20 identifies two of them as “the prince of Persia” and the “prince of Greece” with the former being the one who withstood the angel that was on his way to speak with Daniel, who had to be helped by Michael, one of the “chief princes” (Daniel 10:13).

These spiritual forces that ruled the nations were not demons…

In Psalm 82, we see them referred to as “gods”. The Hebrew word is “elohim” which simply means “supernatural, spiritual beings” of which Yahweh is the God of gods (Psalm 136:2), the Supreme spiritual being (“God is Spirit” – John 4:24) and ruler over all, who has no equal. The other “gods” don’t have his power or traits.

In some places like Job 38:6-7, we see these spiritual beings being identified as “sons of God” who were present at creation. Some of them are called out by God in Psalm 82 for “judging unjustly and showing partiality to the wicked.”

I believe that we still see that today… unseen spiritual forces showing partiality to the wicked, heaping wealth and fame on them in return for their service in leading others down the same road of destruction they’re on. Those people see us as “useful idiots”, but in fact they are themselves duped and are useful idiots for the enemies of God.

So many in the entertainment business for example have literally (by their own admission) sold their soul to the devil. Don’t think it’s limited to the entertainment world. I know one well known Christian leader who, when he was in the business world, was early for a morning appointment with the leaders of an oil company.

He got to the building before the secretarial staff, so went in and took the elevator to the executive floor where he was going to wait. He heard some noise coming out of the boardroom and out of curiosity, ventured down the hall to take a peek.

What he saw, stunned him!

The executive leadership of this company were all dressed in black robes and were in the middle of some satanic ritual. It freaked him out.

I say that to simply point out that although Jesus “disarmed principalities and powers” and “made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it” (Colossians 2:15) and now sits “at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him” (1 Peter 3:22), we are still at war!

Paul tells us in Ephesians 2, the “prince of the power of the air” is a “spirit that now works in the sons of disobedience” and 1 John 5:19 adds that… “the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one”. (1 John 5:19)

It falls back on us who are in Christ, (who are now the temple of the Holy Spirit), to enforce His victory. This is not done by flesh and blood efforts. In fact, Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:4 that “the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds”.

Paul lists five different elements of spiritual armor for believers and then offers up the one weapon that is offensive in nature… “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God”. (Ephesians 6:17)

I have made it my mission to become a swordsman, “skilled in the word of righteousness, who by reason of use, have my senses exercised to discern both good and evil”. (Hebrews 5:13-14)

I have learned how to wield that sword in the marketplace to capture men for the king and resources for His kingdom. It’s been a long journey, these last 40 years or so, but I have learned and done so much.
