It was last night.
It was in a dream. Words cannot adequately describe the serene quality of His face. It seems strange to describe His visage as beautiful, but it was what was emanating from His countenance that remains with me to this moment.
Love. Acceptance. Kindness.
As nice as those words are, they are like trying to paint your house white with milk.
The scene was simple… I was working on something and I thought of a way to cut corners so to speak. Make something of a lesser quality. It was easier.
But then I saw His face.
And I knew instantly that Jesus was my boss. I worked for Him. Cutting corners, though tempting, was simply not an option.
It was a great feeling to know that Jesus was my boss, that I worked for Him. And as such, I would only deliver my best because I represent Him and I want to do my best at that.
As I described this dream to my wife Judy today, I thought about sharing it with you. I withdrew into my study and opened my online Bible program only to find the Scripture of the day from Colossians 3:17… “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
That was a WOW moment!
I realized that Jesus was indeed speaking to me in my dream and through the orchestration of today’s Bible verse. With that in mind, there are two things I’d like to share with you…
Firstly, remember always that we are His representatives on Earth, so represent Him well with your work, your actions, your words, even your attitude towards others.

Wow…this verse has been my computer’s wallpaper for the past few weeks. But thinking about it in the context of your dream changes the meaning. If I acted as if He was physically in the room with me as I walk out my role as a husband, father, business leader, etc., there are surely many times that I would better live up to this verse and better fulfill my desire to please Him in all things. Hi Michael, At age 86, I am slowing down but still accomplishing a few things. I thought of not renewing my membership in the Saskatchewan Woodworker’s Guild, as I seem to be too busy. Then I realized that these people are my friends that I cannot leave. At that moment I saw a great mission-field. I need to pray for many of these friends by name, on my knees with tears, asking that each one find Jesus!!!
So, I also have a calling.
