So much has happened since we were together Thursday night.
The Charlie Kirk memorial was probably the most watched evangelistic effort in human history. An amazing event and testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ. Orchestrated it seems for a purpose bigger than man could arrange.
It felt like God was reaching out to the largest audience yet for a single day, with many voices that gave a unified call to the world to come to Jesus. The timing is indeed curious to me.
Then of course, there’s today which is the first day of the Feast of Trumpets which millions are hoping will be the rapture of the church. Many are emphatic that today is in fact the day.
Although I am equally convinced it is NOT today, that doesn’t make me a scoffer or a mocker. It doesn’t mean I am Biblically illiterate and unable to hear God.
You may have seen one of the many “rapture confirmation” videos in the last few weeks from sincere well meaning people that are one million or even one billion percent sure Jesus told them personally He is returning today. They asked for confirmation and believed things like when they saw a license plate with the numbers 923, that settled it for them.
For me, this mass psychosis reminds me of the “ice bucket challenge” of recent years and is symptomatic of people having no idea how to truly discern God’s voice. They are carried away by winds of doctrine that play upon that holy desire (one that I fervently share) to forever be with the Lord.
The “confirmations” they get are more commonly known as confirmation bias (the tendency to notice or interpret information in a way that supports an existing belief).
It happens for instance when you seriously consider buying a certain type of vehicle such as a Volkswagen bug or a Tesla… Once you decide on it, you begin seeing them everywhere.
I will tell you that we are headed into unchartered waters that few (if any) alive have ever seen. Knowing how to navigate those waters will be a non-negotiable. Knowing God’s voice will be indispensable.

This would normally be tonight, but because today is September 23rd, that happens to be my birthday so my wife and family and some friends are celebrating with me, on this my 70th birthday!
That means I will be hosting the Discovery meeting tomorrow night instead of tonight. I usually include some teaching that night as well, and I suspect tomorrow night will be the same.
I will also stay on the call to answer any questions you may have about what God’s Word speaks to with respect to succeeding in life, and the Natural Law models He gave us to study and learn from.
