When it comes right down to it, the number one reason I believe people hesitate to invest in themselves in the form of training and education, is because at a subconscious level, they don’t believe they themselves are a good investment.
Stay with me now…
The first person you tell any lie to, is always yourself. Think about that for a second.
We often delude ourselves with false narratives to alleviate the pain of truth, because at first, many times, truth hurts. But it also heals. In fact, you can’t heal without truth.
If you don’t like your current financial circumstances, the first step to healing them is acknowledging and accepting the truth.
No one is born with innate business skills.
There is no such thing as a born salesman or marketer. All those skills are learned and developed and anyone can make that choice.
The best at those things in the world, have an average IQ, with an average number of eyes (2) and a similar number of arms and legs. And they only have one brain. Just like you!
Their output in life is proportionate to the input they gave their mind and their spirit.
Do you want more out of your life? You need to put more into your mind and fully nourish your spirit in the ways and word of God.
Make sense, doesn’t it.
So why do people hesitate to take action this is clearly in their best interest? That brings me back to the lies people tell themselves, such as “I’m too busy. “I can’t afford it.” They wouldn’t say that if their child was held for ransom for 100 times the price of a training program. Suddenly time would be freed up and money would be found.
As I often say, it’s not a matter of lack of resources. It’s a lack of resourcefulness. And that is a lack of motivation. And that is a lack of understanding. And that understanding is often blocked by a shield of a lie they tell themselves.
I’ve done that. I’m pretty sure you have as well. We are all descendants of Adam, and he hid his nakedness and blamed Eve. It’s the old nature on display. And it’s time to leave that old nature way behind.
So what is the most feared, delayed and yet most important secret to success? Stepping out. Taking a risk. Believing in yourself enough to take a chance, knowing that if you fail, you will not be destroyed. You will get back up. You will keep trying until you succeed. (“A righteous man falls seven times and gets back up again.” Proverbs 24:16)
I was speaking at an event by the Benham Brothers in Charlotte back in 2021. To my surprise, a dear friend of mine, stood up and shared a very emotional testimony with the group that I had never heard.
He spoke about a time when he spoke at one of my events in Ft. Lauderdale for the first time. He had just heard my presentation of some of God’s Best Kept Secrets that I had learned thus far, and then he decided right there and then, to step out, take a risk, and in front of 800 people, try for the first time to do what I said.
This is what happened…
