September 23rd Mania

By Michael Q. Pink

September 1, 2025

September 23rd will be a very big day this year.

Bigger than normal.

There. I said it.

A very special event happened on this day in history that went by largely unnoticed.

Most of you reading this were either very young or not even born yet.

For me, it was a bit traumatic. I was in a cold room with bright lights, surrounded by strangers wearing masks.

I felt helpless. I cried.

One woman who had apparently been screaming, was now suddenly joyful because of me, and held me tight.

Who knew you could have that kind of effect on people at such an early age?

It was years before I could even talk about it – or anything else for that matter!

Five years later, to the very day, I was given a cowboy suit complete with cowboy hat, a holster and a toy gun. Oh yeah, there was also cake and ice cream. It would only be one more year before I started first grade.

Celebrations quieted down for several decades, but then in 2017 and especially now in 2025, the fascination about the date of my birth (September 23rd) is starting to get to a fever pitch.

I started seeing videos about “confirmation of a rapture on September 23rd” which sounded intriguing. They all referenced what appears to be a very sincere man in Africa who said Jesus met with him face to face in 2018 and explicitly told him He would return September 23-24 of 2025.

Sincerity is not the measure of truth.

Joseph Smith said he saw Jesus and God the Father in 1820, from which sprang the fount of Mormonism. He may have been sincere, but if so, he was sincerely deluded.

If someone has seen Jesus, it would not be to propagate a lie, but that is what’s happening now and will increase in the next few weeks.

Well-meaning people who thought because they saw a license plate with the numbers 923 on it, took that as confirmation that Jesus is coming back on 9/23.

Are you kidding me?!?!?!

That’s just one example of the many absurdities circulating on YouTube to substantiate the mistaken belief that Jesus will return on 9/23-24 this year.

That’s a far cry from being a Berean, who searched the Scriptures (not license plates) to see if these things be so.

Of course, I believe Jesus can and has manifested (revealed) Himself to many over the last 2000 years, but anyone claiming to have that experience and then use that experience to teach something erroneous based on that, is either deceived, or a deceiver or both.

Here’s what I firmly believe…

We live in momentous times that will surely go down in the history books. You and I are called to be difference makers at this point in history, not to sit by the river waiting daily for the rapture.

God has prepared good works for us to walk in. We’re called to shake the nations, not be shaken by them. We’re called to do exploits, not to be exploited.

I’m looking forward to this September 23rd because it’s my birthday and one that Moses spoke of in Psalm 90 that I will have finally reached. It will be the biggest one I’ve ever had, requiring more candles than come in even a jumbo box.

And more importantly, it will be the beginning of the rest of my life, which will be my finest days, my greatest work, and my dearest passion, all of which will be shared with my precious bride Judy Ann, who shines brighter in my eyes than the sun above.

Friends, you may disagree with me about September 23rd, but hopefully by the 24th, or at the latest by the 25th, we can as a corporate body, get back to the business at hand which is fulfilling the calling and destiny God put in all of us, furthering the gospel, setting the captives free and shining as lights in the world in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation.

As for me, and perhaps you, we shine best in the marketplace when we demonstrate His wisdom, walk by faith, and are powered by love.

Believe me when I tell you…

The best is yet to come, and I don’t mean by that, an emergency evacuation so we can escape our problems and leave our debts for the antichrist to deal with.

It’s no wonder Jesus asked “When the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

He wasn’t speaking of the faith to wait at the rapture bus stop pleading to be evacuated. I’m sorry, but I’m more than a little tired of the winning team, (Christians) who keep wanting to get off the field and go to the locker room for celebrations and refreshments before the game has finished!

We were born for this generation to effect it, not to be evacuated from it, leaving behind a post-it-note for our unsaved friends and family telling them it wasn’t aliens that took us… It was Jesus, and now if they want to follow after us, they’re going to have to be beheaded.

Trust me on this, (or just wait till the 25th), but when you wake up and find yourself still here and those credit card bills are still due or even late, there will be another date, someone else will set.

I know. I was there for Hal Lindsey’s “Late Great Planet Earth”.

That fizzled.

Then I saw what happened to the “88 Reasons Why Jesus is Coming Back in 1988”. Remember that?

And who could forget the timeless sequel, “89 Reasons Why Jesus is Coming Back in 1989”?

I want to be so busy about my Father’s business, operating increasingly with each passing year at greater and greater levels of faith that if Jesus does come back in my lifetime, He will find not only me, but hopefully you as well, living by faith, contending with the devil, and taking ground!

I want to be so obsessed with His vision and passion that it doesn’t occur to me to languish at the rapture bus stop or wait by the river.

Yes, I do as Paul suggested, I look “for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,” because as Paul continued, He is coming for “His own special people who are zealous for good works”.

I am zealous for good works and am excited about doing exploits in the coming months and years.

  • Yes and amen! I couldn’t agree with you more. I hope that too many people’s faith isn’t shipwrecked on 9/25. I’m confused why so many people are listening to YouTube and other men rather than the Word of God. Matthew 24:36 says, “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.” May we all be busy about the Father’s business and occupy until He comes. Thank you for your exhortation!

    • Hi Tia… Thanks for commenting… They do have their answer to Matthew 24:36, but I disagree with the overall premise and conclusion.

  • Great story Michael. Jesus said: ‘The Kingdom of God is at hand.’ it is here. He also said he would return when all the world was told about the Kingdom.. There are still millions of people who have never heard about God’s earthly Kingdom, including many Christians. We have work to do

being God’s ambassadors here on earth before there is any rapture.

  • Unfortunately, for me, my husband falls into that category of the rapture delusionists. I’ve found myself telling God that only He can open my husband’s eyes to the delusion of the rapture on 23rd. I’m fatigued from trying to show him that nothing is happening, but ive finally given the issue over to God. I continue to work in God’s vineyard, ready to do His will.

  • Thank you for your boldness to post this, it helps grounding us as believers in what we should focus on and stop wasting our time arguing over when Jesus is coming. Many blessings to you on your upcoming birthday. We happen to share the same birth month and only 20 years apart, I’m celebrating my 50th and as you said it, the best is yet to come! Thank you brother.

    • Thank you for taking the time to comment Christiaan. We live in interesting times, which is why, we need to focus more on our walk with Him, and not our exit from the planet.
