No Farmer Makes This Mistake… Why Should You?

By Michael Q. Pink

September 30, 2021

It seems so many of my best ideas come at a time that I least expect it, and frankly on occasion, I’m trying not to be distracted by a great idea which is often a much needed solution to a current problem that needs resolving.

Take yesterday morning for example… I settle in early to soak in the Word, enjoy my coffee while listening to instrumental worship music in the background. Judah is laying somewhere near me waiting for the sunrise and our chance to go for a 1 mile walk. Judy is still catching her beauty rest.

So I find myself reading Isaiah 28 when I am drawn to verse 24, which in the Passion translation reads…“Does a farmer plow continually at planting time and never plant a crop? Does he continually break open the clods of the ground and never sow his seed?”

Verse 25 & 26 continues… “Once he has leveled its surface, does he not sow dill and cumin, planting his wheat in rows, his barley in its proper place, and his rye in a patch? Yes, his God has instructed him and taught him the right way of farming the land.”

And while I am diligently looking for the spiritual understanding of this, the Holy Spirit (my Teacher) points out the obvious…

No farmer continually plows and prepares his field without sowing the seed and beginning the growing process.

And immediately I saw myself in that passage… How often have I reviewed and edited and modified some new product, or a webinar or a release of some kind and just before launching it, I think of a better way to prepare the field.

Instead of launching, I just redo my video or my PowerPoint or my landing page, or all of them!!! And it made me wonder…

Are you like that?

Do you delay launching your new venture, a new program or simply doing something new because your ducks aren’t all in a row? There’s something else you think of to do first?

Jesus encountered that.

Do you remember the man who wanted to follow Jesus, but he wanted the stars to align perfectly before taking this new walk of faith? (Luke 9:59)

Jesus. In person. Face to face… invited the man to follow Him.

Can you imagine what that man would have seen with his own eyes and heard with his own ears?

But apparently the man wanted to wait until his father died so he could bury him. Another was invited and declined the offer from the King of kings and Lord of lords because he had a few other minor commitments to take care of.

So he also missed out.

As I write this, I am near to tears thinking of what those men missed but could have had.

And the lives they in turn could have impacted for centuries to come.

They traded the best offer they would ever receive for something that was trivial in comparison.

And that brings me to my final point… I don’t know if you attended the 5 Day Face-To-Face With God challenge last week, but you should see all the action and responses in the Facebook group. It was other worldly. It was kingdom. It left many people completely undone – and grateful for it.

If you missed those 5 sessions, they are still available until Sunday inside the Facebook group. Go here now (before they’re taken down) and register to watch them.

I’ve heard from many of you who not only did the 5 day challenge but joined up in the transformation group, which although there is an investment, there are also some scholarship opportunities, so no one needs to be left out.

However, I’ve also heard from a few who are struggling to figure out whether to join or not. They want the result, but are unsure about their schedule, etc.

Here’s what I want to tell you…

DO NOT JOIN if you don’t have the leading of the Lord.

But if you do sense His pleasure and His warm invitation, PLEASE DO NOT MISS OUT. Do not be like those fellas in Luke 9 who were real interested but turned down the opportunity of a lifetime.

The TranzformU membership that Rick Osborne is offering is the only time He plans on doing it LIVE.

It will be amazing.

Judy and I are in it and are arranging our schedule to make it work. I DO NOT WANT TO MISS A SINGLE SESSION!

I truly hope you can join us on this incredible journey and if you’ve already registered for last week’s challenge and are ready for the transformation of a lifetime, you can join here now.

  • I’m enrolled and ready. Might be a challenge due to the time difference – but I will engage and I will be transformed – by grace. If I fully engage – He will complete the work in me.
    Shalom – peace

  • I'm in Michael, I joined today! That's a challenge in and of itself for me, but God told me YES do it, so I did. If you hadn't shared it though, I'd not have known about it, so thank you so much.

  • Greetings, I find your blogs authentic and honest—God’s simple and profound ways he speaks! The question is-are our eyes and ears open to what the the Spirit is speaking and how are we to respond? Back in my early days as a believer I’d run to all the wonderful opportunities, conferences, prayer groups—I was burned out, then the computer with emails, zooms, webinars, etc. I want to sit in the arms of ABBA FATHER to soak in His loving Presence, to know that I know
what He’s speaking! The last year plus has been a whirlwind—But God, has kept me! My husband and I are retired and it’s re-set time, do-over! So we must hearken to the Holy Spirit and take opportunities before us to serve with love and obedience to the MASTER’s voice.
Thank you for your encouragement and soft and gentle heart in our day! Speak out, Shout aloud words of truth-abide in Him!

    In HIS REST,
    Bonnie Phillips

    • Thank you Bonnie for taking the time to comment and encourage. I really appreciate that and more specifically, what you shred about conferences, prayer groups, etc., leading to burn out. I love what you shared about that and your desire to soak in His loving Presence. Now that you and your husband are retired, I pray that you find your re-set for you and your husband.

      Keep RESTING IN HIM,

      Blessings, Michael
