language life success abundance god word

“This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8)

The book of the Law is the language of life. It contains the way of life. Those who love it will follow it and be blessed. But take note… It is not just a rule book. It is the language of life. It is what we are to speak. It is how we are to speak… words of life. Not lifeless words or words of death.

I believe we are here encouraged to consciously speak words of life as our way of speaking. Our words should be in agreement with the law of God. Our words should be consistent with the heart of God. Our words should speak life to the hearer. We should be fluent in the language of God, the language of the law of God, the language of LIFE and not death!

Not only is the language of life critical to our success but also it should be how and what we think upon. Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report… if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things. Our thought life needs to be consistent with Philippians 4:8.

It needs to be consistent with the laws of God. It needs to be in line with the language of Heaven, the very thoughts of God, the language of life. Why? For it is out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart, brings forth good things and an evil man out of the evil treasure, brings forth evil things. (Matthew 12:35)

When you think in the language of life, you will speak the language of life. When you speak in the language of life, you are more likely to act according to life. It is still a choice but it is much easier because it is how we are thinking. Because it is what we are saying, it is much more likely to be what we are doing.

So what is the promise? If you meditate on the language of life, the law of God, and speak consistently with that language, acting accordingly, does God promise here to make you prosperous and give you success? No. He promises that if you think and speak the language of God, the language of life, living and acting consistent with that, YOU will make YOUR way prosperous and YOU will have good success. Let that sink in today.
