Martin Luther famously said, “I simply taught, preached, and wrote God’s Word; otherwise I did nothing… What do you suppose is Satan’s thought when one tries to do the thing by kicking up a row? He sits back in hell and thinks: Oh, what a fine game the poor fools are up to now! But when we spread the Word alone and let it alone do the work, that distresses him. For it is almighty, and takes captive the hearts, and when the hearts are captured the work will fall of itself.”
I share this with you today to strongly encourage you to not back away from God’s Word in your life. Want to know how the devil gets a foothold in your nation, your city, your life? By filling it with anything and everything other than the Word (who is God and became flesh and dwelt among us).
In the marketplace, where most of us spend the majority of our waking hours, bringing God and His Word into the equation is strongly resisted – even forbidden! Do you doubt that? Bring a bible to work. Let it sit on your desk or workstation. Before you catch anyone’s attention, you will already feel the resistance.
I’m not telling you to carry a bible everywhere you go or to put one on your desk. I only use that as an example to illustrate the unseen (and seen) resistance to God’s magnificent holy Word. On occasion, I have carried a Bible in public, maybe to read in a restaurant or on a plane. You can feel the resistance. It’s as if I was carrying a sword or something. 😊
Here’s what happened…
I am currently running ads for my upcoming 3-Day Selling Among Wolves Challenge (I hope you can attend). Because I owe all my success to what I have learned and put into practice from Scripture, my short video overview openly discusses that.
I was shocked at the vile and hateful comments I got!
This video really stirred people up… Let me know what you think.
The devil doesn’t care too much if you believe that Jesus is your ticket to Heaven. Believe whatever you want about the afterlife. Just stay out of the realm in which he goes about roaring like a lion seeking whom he may devour.
Tomorrow, God willing, I am going to write about one of the most powerful verses in all of Scripture pertaining to achieving success in the marketplace.
I believe people reacted so ugly to my videos and ads because I dared to apply the authority of Scripture to business. They said it was a scam! One guy posted on FB and then called my office and left me a message in a deep guttural voice that I shall not repeat here. I wanted to thank him because of what Jesus said here in Matthew 5:11-12. 😊
I struck a nerve.
The devil and his crowd do not want you and I to learn God’s ways, and bring His Word out into the open, especially in the marketplace. He tolerates it in church as long as we agree to keep it within the confines of those four walls. It’s when we bring it out to the world and let it shine, that Hell is aroused against us.
He wouldn’t care if it had no effect. The devil doesn’t care if you quote Shakespeare. He doesn’t care if you read about the “Leadership Secrets of Attilla the Hun”. He fears the Word of God and he wants to keep it out of the domain he claims for himself (but lost).
Why?
Because “the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)
And it will change your life. Every aspect of it, if you let it.
Therefore, all the more shall I preach and teach the Word for life and business, and be satisfied with the work it does in the lives of others. If you’d like to see what I’ll be covering next week in the 3-day Selling Among Wolves (aptly named) challenge, check it out RIGHT HERE. (Not what they teach you in Harvard!)
Get ready! I’m going to be releasing some powerful info in the next several blog posts and emails this week concerning the battle for resources and how to win – without breaking a sweat! If you want to learn God’s ways for taking back the gates of commerce, stay tuned my friend.
Until tomorrow, be fruitful and multiply!
