Wage YOUR OWN WAR…

President Trump is now being referred to as a “war time president” due to the onslaught of the Coronavirus. He and his administration are doing their best to combat this virus and its effects.

BUT DON’T LEAVE ALL THE FIGHTING TO HIM AND HIS TEAM!

Proverbs 24:6 instructs us “For by wise counsel YOU WILL WAGE YOUR OWN WAR, And in a multitude of counselors there is safety.”

Each of us is responsible to do our part in the war! If you think that hand washing and social distancing is the extent of doing your part, you are sadly mistaken! Those things and others like them, are purely defensive in nature.

You don’t win wars by hunkering down and trying to outlast the enemy. You obviously should have great, even impenetrable defenses, but YOU MUST GO ON THE OFFENSIVE to win the war.

How can you do this?

1. GET YOUR HEAD RIGHT: This virus is not from God. We live in a sin stained world, with thorns, thistles, weeds and viruses. There are also some very wicked men on the earth. GOD DID NOT SEND THE VIRUS.

2. KNOW YOUR ENEMY: The devil is weak and utterly vanquished. Colossians 2:15 says, “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, TRIUMPHING OVER THEM in it.” He is not a threat. He is a liar and his specialty is spreading lies and fear. IGNORE HIM!

3. KNOW YOUR AUTHORITY: Luke 10:19 says, “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and OVER ALL THE POWER OF THE ENEMY, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Authority has been given to you by God through His Son, Jesus Christ. However, you still have to develop that authority through use. The inner confidence (faith) you have (or don’t have) will determine the effectiveness of your God given authority. For most, that authority is kept securely hidden in their Bible, rarely looked at, and seldom if ever used. Why? Unbelief!

Faith is like muscles. We all have them. But few develop them.

4. DEVELOP A FAITH TANK: You’ve heard of “think tanks” before. It’s where a bunch of people who think they are smart, get together and contribute their insights on how to handle current realities and potential threats. The problem is that they typically rely on earthly wisdom and darkened reason.

When I say to develop a “faith tank”, I am saying that you should get with others who are growing, speaking and walking in faith. The counsel you get (as referenced in the beginning of this post from Proverbs 24:6) needs to be faith filled counsel. Not the counsel of the feckless. Not the counsel of the cowardly. Not the counsel of the untried, unproven, untested. Pull together from your circle of influence others on this journey of faith and build each other up.

Don’t have any friends like that? Then you must either find them, or train the friends you have. Faith is the currency of the kingdom and it is powered by love. (Galatians 5:6)

Go to war my friends. Go to war. This virus can be defeated by natural means (if and when they find a cure) but it can also be defeated by a word of faith, if not worldwide, then for sure, as it pertains to you. 

What I mean is, that you may not have the heart faith to instantly defeat the virus on a worldwide scale, but you certainly can have the faith to wage your own war over your own sphere and block its intrusion into your life.

During this extended and for us, unprecedented fight for the health of our nation, both physically and economically, I am going to war inside my YouTube channel where I will be posting content free of charge meant to encourage, inspire and uplift you.
