Over the weekend, I saw numerous social media posts. Among them was the story that President Trump was hospitalized at Walter Reed Hospital in some kind of emergency. Another post boldly claimed that President Trump had in fact, died! Still another post was claiming that a coup was underway to remove the president from power. (All of those were wishful thinking on the part of our enemies.)
Then, regarding the 2nd airman downed behind enemy lines, one video purportedly showed a captured pilot being interrogated by Iranian forces. Another said, that in fact, that he had been located and rescued.
I was taken aback by the flow of vicious lies, masquerading as truth that were being perpetrated by nefarious forces, and then spread by undiscerning people and those wishing us to fail. As the saying goes, “A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes.”
Of the five examples I just gave you, turns out that one of them was true… The 2nd American pilot was indeed rescued! Although I believed the only good report I read, I had to wait until the light of Sunday morning before it was finally and joyfully confirmed!
But this post is not about that amazing and heroic story. It’s about something David lamented in Psalm 12:4 where he spoke concerning a practice the godless would routinely do. They would defiantly say…
“With our tongue, we will prevail…”
In other words, their big strategy to win battles was to control the narrative, by prevailing with the words of their mouth. That strategy was on full display over the weekend, but frankly, it’s a daily occurrence on mainstream media.
In the days ahead, carefully constructed lies, augmented by convincing AI effects will be ubiquitous. It reminds me of Jesus’ words in Matthew 24:24 “For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”
I am writing to warn you that the battle for your belief is raging. If the enemy can convince you of a lie, all your decisions and actions will follow suit. It all begins with INPUT. See graphic below…
I’m not just talking about geo-political issues… I’m also speaking of the narratives we allow in that guide our day-to-day work and business life. Not only is it incumbent upon us to choose our INPUT wisely, but out of that, we should cultivate a flow of words from our own lips to shape the direction of our lives and impact others for good.

You may not be able to control the narrative that nefarious and/or foolish, “click-bait” influencers or wannabe influencers are putting out there, but you can 100% control the narrative you allow in and the narrative you send back out to the world that has the potential to impact others for good.
That is a very important lesson modeled by birds, who are doing as instructed by God (Psalm 148:7-10) and affecting the atmosphere in which they live in a way that ensures they never have to worry about provision.
