My wife Joan died when she was only 44, two of our kids were still at home, so that helped some. Two years later I married Frances...after 16 years we found she had cancer and died 6 weeks later...all the kids were on their own. After six weeks everyone seemed to be going about things as if nothing happened...but I was still hurting sooo very much. I missed the just reaching over in bed and touching her...I longed to get hugs...I even hugged guys. After 9 months I decided to have cataract surgery. The doc required me to have a physical...part of it was a special eye exam (previous detached retina) the treatment was a freezing of weak spots on the retina (my world renowned doc..personal friend...forgot to annestisize me.) on the way home it hit me...I pulled off the road and really cried...not just for the hurt but....I missed her so much. As I was recovering, God spoke to me (more real than this email) He said, "Get over your petty party I have things planned for you". A week late I went for the physical and the nurse as she was taking my blook asked if I wanted and aids test. I told here I had only been with two women in the past 35 years...and I was married to them. She knew about Frances and asked how I was doing. I said, I liked to cook and go out to dinner, but it ws no fun alone. The nurse (Brenda) said you should have a problem getting someon to go with you...so I said would you. We've now been married 22 years. I tell you this because I know after the first few months...you will be the only one still hurting, but our God knows everytihing about you and will bless you with His peace. Just want to tell you from someone that's been where your are...I'll continue to pray for you. Why our God chooses to heal and restore some and some He calls home. But this we do take comfort in, is that He is still God and He is Sovereign. And in His Sovereignty, He knows what is best for us and His love for us is without measure and is so deep. I pray that you will allow Him to comfort you. He is the God of all comfort and that you will find that place of quiet peace and rest in the cleft of the Rock, under His mighty wings enfolded and wrapped in Him. Psalm 84 says if your heart is set on a pilgrimage and after you go through the Valley of Bacca (the Valley of Tears) you will be strengthened. You are on a piilgrimage, you are going through, you will not stay in the Valley of Tears. God will take every tear drop and bottle them and He will, from day to day strengthen you. We are not without hope as some are . You know you will see your beloved again. In the meantime, Brenda has left you with a treasure chest of wonderful memories on which to pull from.Allow the Lord to hold you close from day to day.
