There is a River

While Michael devotes his attentions to his wife and her healing process, the blog will be written by some of our certified Rainforest Coaches. Updates on Brenda can be found at www.BrendaPink.com.

If you’ve ever driven in a flooded area, you know the warnings about the power of moving water. Cars and trucks can get swept away by water that doesn’t appear to be very deep. I’ve been reflecting on the parallel between the physical laws that explain the power and momentum of flowing water and the spiritual application of what God says about water.

Ezekiel 47 speaks of the water coming from the threshold of the temple in the city of God that becomes ankle deep, then knee deep, then deep enough to swim in. Innumerable Christian songs refer to this river- the river of Life.

This has been a year of breakthrough in my understanding of prayer as a river. In the past, I’ve never felt like a very effective intercessor. My inability to sit still in quiet solitude for periods of time seemed to disqualify me for what I deemed serious prayer. My consolation is that I’m a worshipper. So I’ve provided music for prayer groups and offered many, many prayers through worship.

It’s revelation to me that no matter how we each pray - the style, duration, intensity – we are each a tributary. In John, we’re told that there’s a river of life flowing from every believer. Even if you think you’re only a trickle, a trickle joins with other trickles to form a stream. Streams flow together to become a river and rivers flow to the sea. Ezekiel 47:12 says “Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing."

As we all join our prayers together for strength for Michael and healing for Brenda Pink, we become part of a mighty river. It has the power to sweep away the heavy weight of their circumstances and bring hope and life. Never underestimate the power of moving water.

“There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God.” Psalm 46:4

excellant word ! Notice that nothing grows in the river, the angel of the Lord brought the prophet back to the banks of the river and planted him thier. We are trees of righteousness the planting of the Lord. As long as the river stays within the banks the trees prosper, but where it breaks out it becomes a waste land. We are all a part of the church, we all are streams feeding that river of life flowing from the throne room of God. We each bring nutrients that the Spirit of God deposits in each of us for a particular purpose. And together we establish the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven. May the ressurection power of a healing God flow into our sisters body.

Matthew 14:22-33. Jesus, made a command upon the disciples to go to the other side and they got into the boat, He didn't allow them to know what was going to happen while they were obeying His command to go to the other side. After Jesus went away to pray, the disciples continued until they were in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves. They were afraid, and did not even recognized Jesus when He approached them walking on water, the Bible says they cried out for fear. But listen to what Jesus said,""Be of good cheer it is I" God knows the circumstances that has come upon this woman of God, however, just as how in the midst of the raging storm , Peter asked Jesus "Lord if it is you, command me to come to you on the water, and Jesus said "Come" as long as Peter had his eyes fixed on Jesus and not on the boisterous wind he was able to walk on water. As soon as he took his eyes off Jesus he became afraid. The Bible says he cried out to Jesus , "Lord save me!" and imediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him. This is a faith walk and God is looking for faith when things looks fearful because of the circumstances. Have faith in GodHe knows what He is doing.

Awesome word! And the truth of it....magnificent! The world is watching, waiting and praying to see God manifest His glory in this situation. Our hope is in Him. We call strength and healing into these lives, by the power of the cross and In Jesus Name!

I apreciate that word. Sometimes I myself find myself wondering how to get the people to respond in prayer. This is a good reminder that everyone is a Tributary, and are expected to contribute. Thank you so much. Our prayers are with Brenda and Michael Pink.

Michael, when I read the "Blessings For Brenda" today, about the tumeric, I couldn't stop laughing and weeping, at the same time, in the Spirit. All I could say was "Thank You", to God. His mercy endures forever! You have many, many, many partners behind you, in this battle. I've never laid eyes on you or Brenda, but I love you both so much. Thank you, again and again, for inviting us into your lives like this.
