Are You Super Abounding?
By
October 12, 2009"And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:" 2 Corinthians 9:8 Paul is telling us that God is able to make all grace super abound toward us so that we, always and at all times, will have thorough sufficiency in everything, so that we may super abound, excel, have enough and with some to spare for every good work. So here's my question... Are you experiencing that level of super abundance for every good work? It's going to take a few blogs to get this across, but let me begin with a couple of basics. First of all, God loves you. He would never, nor could never lie to you. Therefore we know that His word is true! Yet most are not experiencing what He promises. So many of those who are, only experience it occasionally and when it happens, we get all excited and shout and testify and make a big deal out of it. Being amazed at God coming through for you is a sure sign of a hard heart. Here's why... When I tell my wife that I'm depositing funds into the household account, she doesn't hold her breath hoping against hope that I will follow through, nor does she call all our friends with giddy excitement when I follow through on my promise. She knows and trusts me.Ê But with God, we act surprised like we just won the lottery when He provides abundantly for a pressing need, precisely because we don't know Him very well, nor do we fully trust Him. After all, His ways are higher than our ways or some such excuse. Consider this... Jesus was walking across the lake during a storm one night which rather unnerved the disciples, but when He got in their boat and calmed the storm they were amazed beyond measure. Seems like a reasonable reaction, but Scripture says they were so amazed because they understood not the miracle of the loaves and fishes they had just witnessed, for their hearts were hardened. Jesus wants us to be in the place where the miraculous doesn't astound us. After all, the miraculous is really only the manifestation of laws we weren't taught in school or seminary. What looks miraculous to us is not at all miraculous to God. Jesus walked through walls and a host of other things because He operated both by natural laws and by those unseen laws which we are unschooled in, but are accessed by faith. Now this is getting scary, but exciting... I promise you that I have stepped into another level on my journey. It's as if God has pulled back a curtain and is showing me things that have long mystified me, but now begin to make perfect sense. As I walk in them, my world is changing in measurable and practical ways. I want to share those with you if you are interested so, I'm inviting you to a private conference call this week. When I say private, I mean about a dozen or so folks on a call so I can know everyone on the call and share what's really going on and invite you personally to join me on this walk. You will need to be online to see what I have to show you. I will be sending out another email with more details, but spots are filling fast so if you would like to be in on a call with me, please reply to this email so Cheryl, my trusty administrator, can schedule you in on one of the open spots.

I must have accidently erased or sent my comment--who knows! Anyway I was thrilled with your blog today and say "Amen" to the analysis of Paul's thorn in the flesh. I t hink it was a pretty common idiom in his day and goes right back to the Numbers 33:55 reference used. My favorilte statement of all was "He (Jesus" never sat them down and explained to them that this sickness, disease or malady was God’s way of teaching them a lesson." Amen and Amen. Thanks, brother.

Great post, Michael!!! I have heard it said that "faith begins where the will of God is known." I believe that pertains to healing just as much as it does to salvation. As long as we're praying "not my will, but Thine be done," then healing or any other answer to prayer will not come. So keep putting the truth out there, Michael. God bless!
Tom Shaw at 7:39pm EDT - September 30, 2009
Michael, that was a mouthful, but one filled with truth. I agree with everything you said, and while not many Christians will get to actually know all there is to know in this life about healing, faith, etc. we strive for the goal of knowing Him and His wondrous attributes as well as His perfect will for each one of us. Hallelujah!!

Michael, I usually don't respond to Blogs very often but when you shared last week or so about healing, I knew you were probably going to take some hits... I was glad you had the boldness to stay your ground on healing. It is a delicate subject and unfortunately when people hear or read a message like yours, it is offensive to the flesh. As believers, it is so easy to justify that it is not God's will to heal in every case, but our record shows that Jesus healed ALL who came to him. One man needed a second touch to complete his healing from blindness; some were healed in the same hour; and some were healed instantly. The flesh rears its ugly head and yields to the accuser of the brethren that whispers accusations that the messenger is saying that there is a lack of faith. The truth may be that the believer doesn't believe... there's a difference between believing and having faith. We all the faith of Jesus Christ within us and that's all the faith we need - Galatians 2:20 & verse 21 says that I do not frustrate the grace of God. You know, not receiving all that Christ did for us certainly must frustate the grace of God. Thank you for your clear message of God's will to heal. It is so refreshing to hear this message by a marketplace mentor. I will continue to pray for you and the strength to stand. I praise the Lord with you and your wife as her healing continues to manifest. (See why I don't blog... I have too much to say!) Bonnie

I heard a doctor call depression a spiritual gymnasium recently. The gym is where we build up our muscles and become stronger and better able to face other challenges ahead. Many people go through valleys of various descriptions which are in effect their training grounds for the work they do for the Lord in the future. Strangely I was called to one particular task and shortly after that some things in my life changed for the worse. I only escaped from the effects of some of them when I screamed at God to get me unstuck so that I could serve him better. Many including Michael himself would say that the reason that they can lead people in certain areas is that they have been on some kind of diviine training plan that includes some kind of adversity. God wants healing for us all but he also allows things to go wrong for other reasons. His ways are not ours and all we can do is trust him to work things out for the best in the long run. Susan

Well said Michael! thankyou for taking the time to cover this. I read right to the end. We have all had experiences (not just healing) where our prayers have not been answered the way we thought they ought to be. This is where trust comes in. Beleiving in healing does not mean we dump shame on ourselves and others if we don't seem to acheive the goal of the healing we desired. It is not necessarily because we had no faith. I don;t have to have the anwers to everything to keep beleiving God at HIS word and following his example of praying for the sick. Many have adjusted their doctrine to cater for their disapointment. I have seen people healed who I pray for and a dear loved one die from cancer who I desperately wanted to live. God knows what he is doing. I encourage all who have been disapointed, don't give up. Keep beleiving keep praying for the sick.....
Melanie at 10:46pm EDT - September 30, 2009
Well put, Melanie. If we never see a miracle ourselves, and we certainly have, that doesn't mean they are not a huge part of God's plan. Oral Robert's autobiography, Expect a Miracle is a fine read on this very thing. He basically says he has no idea why some people get healed and others don't. Moreover, Roberts actually lost two of his 4 children, one to a drug related suicide, the other, a daughter and her husband to a plane crash. Still he never wavered in his belief that God is in the business of miracles.,

Dear Michael, your blogs on healing has been very thought provoking for me and my wife. Thank you. It has been something that has also been a mystery to us in our walk and your words has helped us. That said I just thought to let you know that many are of the opinion that Paul had eye problems and that this was what buffeted him. If you look at Galatians 6:11 he writes the closing words of this letter himself and writes it in large letters. Why? Probably because he could not see well due to his eye problem. It must have been a great issue for him because not being able to see must have meant that he was dependent upon others and needed help everywhere he went. Not being able to write himself meant that he had to dictate all his letters. Which I think further explains why he mentions that the Galatians were willing to pluck out their eyes for him - they would if they could give him their eyes. For them he was the set man, their spiritual father and guide. They loved him and wanted to see him well because it hurt them to see him suffer. Paul is a very good standard off success for us. He set the standard according to which we must strive. He writes by his own hand in Gal 615b "What counts is whether we have been transformed into a new creation". But that is not what your blog is about so I wont go there. But thanks for raising these issues, we can only ask Holy Spirit to light our individual ways. Blessings to you and yours from South Africa

Michael: I appreciate your insightful, annointed and gifted writings, not only from a business perspective, but now, even greater, a spiritual one ...I do not normally take the time to "blog" as I am ever writing, encouraging, uplifting and counseling others, as God leads, directs, opens the door, and inspires me to do so ....may I just encourage YOU today to continue "fighting the good fight of faith" - not holding back, but continuing to "speak those things that be not as though they already are." You are a blessing, and child of the Most High God and it is a blessing to receive and read your posts - we praise God for your "gift" and I am thankful to have the opportunity to tell you so! Many continued blessings on you, your family and your business.

If we are in the world we are going to face persecutions for Jesus names sake.Thats a fact.Your explanation of a thorn in the flesh God allows has made sense to me for the first time. I could never understand why God would leave a thorn in my life. When we over come those people that would want to block our progress in any area of our lives through prayer we grow in christ and God gets the glory . And thats what its about, Gods glory. My life is not my own and whatever I encounter good or bad is ultimatley for the advancement of the kingdom of God. I also think that some thorns come as a result of our own deceisons. We give satan legal ground to hurt us and God will allow certain things to happen because of the choices we have made even to the third and fourth generation. But God is faithful and he will always respond according to his word, for healing and for wealth.

"I don’t know, but what I do know is that I will take God at His word over what someone else says their experience is." Excellent blog, Michael. For too long l tried to explain away the hard questions but came to peace by just taking God at His Word. We must not substitute our experience for truth. " I believe Charles Finney said (although I don't find it right now) that he would "settle down in naked faith on the promises of God." If we would do just that and come ever closer to Jesus for the truth, then eventually we will find what we are seeking. "Seek first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you." God is redeeming all things back to their original state so I want to enjoy that unfolding journey, a journey into the heart of my lover best friend. In the end that's the point.
Daniel Symonds at 7:22am EDT - October 1, 2009
My grace is sufficient for thee. This is the key to a fuller understanding of this Scripture. Grace is more than the common definition of undeserved favor. Grace is a person. Namely, Jesus Christ, who has given us the authority to bind up the enemy. We will all be attacked but we have the promise that no weapon formed against us will prosper. Paul was constantly attacked by a messenger of satan. But His Grace will enable us as it did Paul to bind even the most bothersome messenger and literally flick them away like a fly. But just as a fly comes back to bother us we simply invoke the Name of Jesus and the Blood of Jesus each and every time canceling the assignment of the messenger. We are more than conquerors and we overcome by the Blood of Lamb and our testimony. Stay strong in the Lord and in His Strength for the Greater one is within us than he that is in the world.

Dear Michael: Always blessed by the revelation the Lord supplies to you. This teaching especially on healing is apropos in that a dear friend was diagnosed this week with ovarian cancer, Stage 4. A believer who loves the Lord. We expect a miracle. Many are praying. I also have a sister in law with Down's syndrome and have prayed for a reverse of that for her and all the health issues that go with it. I have heard of one healing from Downs! God is able. Thank you for the inspired words as always.

Michael - WELL SAID - thank you! Years ago I was praying for healing for a sweet friend and when she died I questioned God and his response was that I was praying "whether in heaven or on earth we receive her healing"! He said that I didn't really believe for her to be healed while living! I started studying scriptures and realized that as Jesus taught the disciples to pray God's will on earth as in heaven - there is no disease, death or lack in heaven! It changed the way I pray and how I see God heal and minister now. When we minister what we HEAR the Father say, SEE him do and GO where he says to go - our lives line up with His plans and not our plans. THANK YOU for your heart and willingness to share!

Michael, I have been on the sidelines while reading the many comments, all of which have been very interesting and informative in the sense that none of us CAN sum up the Godly conclusion to this question, simply because we are not God! Nor, will we in this lifetime, EVER attain the wisdom and understanding to be totally dogmatic in our conclusions to the exception of everyone else! Even Solomon, the wisest ever...left this life asking questions! So...it remains for each of us to seek to understand the WILL of God in OUR lives. With Godly FAITH, we should in no way limit the WILL of God by virtue of long held 'conclusions' that might very well be faulty! Today's post is an excellent summation of the matter. Our faith should be active, alive, and filled with promise from our wonderful Father. May this be a great day for you Michael, and for all of your dedicated followers. Bob Park

Dear Michael Thank you for your God given insights. I read the first part about do you think like a Hindu? I grew up in the Far East and as I read it I realized how much of faith has become like the fatalistic faith of the Hindu! It was an eye opener and I have shared it with several people! Jesus is indeed our healer and the lifter of our heads. Thank you for your openness and courage to speak about a sensitive issue on today's society. It is helping me to press in for my complete healing in the name of Jesus and not surrender and give up. Bless you bro! Martin

M. Amen! On May 13, 2001 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I grew-up knowing about Jesus but I never knew Him until that day. I was saved the day I was diagnosed and I believed that He would heal me- He did! I have learned to take the word of God and apply it to symptoms that try to come on me from time to time. I believe it is God's will that we walk in divine health. Jesus took it all for us... how can we be a good witness for Christ if we are broke, sick, and discouraged? Believe and receive!

hi interesting=are you saying that being reconciled to a damaged womb after the birth of my son meant that i didn't have enough faith to get it healed? & that it was really up to me to fight for it? like in a deliverance church?
patricia at 4:10am EDT - October 4, 2009
I struggle with the reconciliation of truth, facts, and timing with regards to healing. The fact is my pancreas no longer produces insulin (juvenile diabetes, not weight or diet related), the truth is by Jesus stripes I was healed. The timing of the reconciliation of the truth and the facts (circumstances) is unknown. In Rom 4:19 it says Abraham considered his body and the deadness of Sarah's womb but did not waver in unbelief. It took 25 years for Abraham to receive his promise. Why? Is instantaneous miraculous healing supposed to be the norm in a believers life?
Michael B. at 5:25pm EDT - October 4, 2009
Michael said: "I maintain that it is God’s will to heal every time, but not all are healed. Why? For the same reason that it’s God’s will that none should perish, but some do." This is the whole healing issue in a nutshell! We get saved by faith, we get healed by faith! Our salvation takes an action on our part - believing and receiving. Healing operates the same way. Do we all walk in it 100% of the time? No. Do we (should we) strive to? Yes! Are there sometimes unanswered questions? Yes. But that means we need to dig even deeper into the Word. We also need to consider our ways. Haggai 1:5-7 Good series, can't wait to read the next excerpt!
Tina Marino at 5:42pm EDT - October 4, 2009
Tina, Are you saying that it is God's will to heal instantaneously every time or just to heal every time?
Michael B. at 5:56pm EDT - October 4, 2009
Michael B. I know that Jesus healed instantly and He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow! The Word says He is the healer, that sickness is a curse and that He redeemed us from the curse. So yes, I believe it is His will to heal instantly every time! Does it always happen instantly in real life? It should, it could - but we all know it doesn't. I have had and witnessed instantaneous healings, but I have also had and seen the frustration of non-instantaneous healing. Does our experience make the Word void? No! It means we are not walking in it fully. I think we don't walk it it fully because we just don't fully believe it....there are many hindrances to our fully believing it. We too often based our theology on our experiences instead of on the Word. I currently am undergoing a non-instantaneous healing. Do I know fully why I didn't get an instant healing? No. But, I do know God healed me over 2000 yrs ago and it is not Him not coming through for me. We have an enemy we need to take authority over, and we also have to look to ourselves and what our part is (consider our ways). It's not a derogatory judgment, it's just a fact. "My people perish for lack of knowledge." That's why it is important to keep getting more into the Word....for more knowledge and the wisdom to know how to apply it. Keep the faith!

Mom is currently in surgery. It is a 2-3 hour major deal. Mom had an obstruction so large, she had lost the aibility to eat anything. And I mean anything. This surgery is not to remove tumors but inable her to consume food again. WHile in the hospital they did scans showing that several of her tumors are getting bigger, meaning her last rounds of chemo have not helped.Dad got on the phone will all 8 of us and we all felt like surgery was not an option because mom just doesn't have alot of strength. However, mom asked for the elders of the church to come in. After the elders came in and prayed , mom is the one that decided she wants to have surgery. She feels like she wants to give the Lord every opportunity to do a miracle in her life. Yesterday mom got on the phone with all of nine of us and had us all laughing hysterically. Her spirits are good and She knows that God is in control.. She is trusting Him completely . We are standing in prayer believing God for a miracle even today while she in surgery . The above is an email I just received a few minutes ago.... This woman and her husband are two of the godliest people I've ever met in my life - their entire family is. I don't know why God hasn't healed her yet - I find it hard to believe it's unbelief...but I don't know her heart like God does. I don't know God's ways... but I do know I love Him, I trust Him and someday I'll know all these answers.
Lorisa at 6:54pm EDT - October 4, 2009
Lorisa I have one book that lists 34 reasons why people are not healed. I am not God and I don't know how the various mechanisms He has set in place to regulate health and healing work. Some of these centre on unforgiveness and bitterness others on unbelief and yet more on other factors. I sometimes ask the Lord to reveal the root cause of the problem in such a way that it can be dealt with appropriately. One thing I do know though is that our enemy knows the word. He is just as capable of perverting our understanding of the word today as he was in the Garden. He can encourage us to take things that God meant for our good from his word into things that actually harm us. I know because it happened to me. He helped me twist and extend the idea of submission to the point where it destroyed the marriage I was trying to save. The important thing is balance and holding all the things that are taught in the bible in right relationship with each other. We can only do this as we walk closely with our Lord and allow him to guide us into the ways of righteousness. Susan

Hi Michael, I praise the Father for the eloquence and clarity He has given you to express this provision that has been granted us through His Word, and the life, death, burial, and incredibly, the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Much like you, I started praying for my family to be medicine free. Free from all allergies, and other infirmities that cause one to take medicine. He challenged me to make it so in my life first. Praise be to His Glorious name, since Feb/2009, by taking a dose of the Word, like 1 Peter 2:24, and declaring my healing, no chemicals have passed through my lips for relief from headaches, and even the last 48 hours, have conquered the creeping crud and driven it out by the power of His blood. Thanks for pressing to the mark. Brother Ray.
