He Speaks For a Reason
By
February 12, 2009"I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now." (John 16:12) I have been speaking lately about things God wants to show us: things about our lives, our future, our nation, and His kingdom as it touches every sphere. There is much He wants to share with us, but we do not have ears to hear. We cannot bear the weight of those words simply because we are not exercised in lifting them and wielding what He has already spoken to us. Think of the things He has already spoken to you that you have not taken up and acted responsibly with. Consider what Jesus said in Mark 4:24-25 "Be careful what you are hearing. The measure of thought and study you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you--and more [besides] will be given to you who hear. For to him who has will more be given; and from him who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away [by force]." (Amplified version) When God speaks a truth to you whether it be from Scripture or just softly spoken to your heart, how much thought do you give it? How much do you study and meditate and roll over in your mind what He spoke? Do you really think you got the full import of His message to you in the time it took to hear it? Do you believe you fully understood the full implication of His wisdom in just a brief acknowledgement that He spoke something to you? He speaks for a reason. Give careful consideration to what He says. Use your life as a laboratory to study what He said. How do you do that? By acting on what He said. It often requires faith, but it always requires obedience. And what is the fruit or reward? Virtue and more knowledge. But if you merely casually reference what the Lord is speaking to you or worse yet, ignore it, not only will you not get the virtue and knowledge He promises, but you will lose what you thought you knew.

AMEN! The Lord spoke to Gideon and said, \"Go in the strength that you have.\" The Lord wants our obedience in action out of our LOVE relationship with Him as his \"Friends\", or as Bill Johnson puts it in his book (Dreaming with God), we are \"Intimates\" of God. It's all about Him, from Him, for Him, and by Him; we are bought by a price. The two greatest commandments are True:
1- Love the Lord your God with ALL your Heart, Mind, Soul, and Strength
2- Love your neighbor (wife, son, daughter, friend, and stranger) as yourself
The Lord does the rest. I agree that we are to know His Word-(Deut 6, Deut 28,2 Tim 2:15; 1-26)
Then we operate in obedience to His Holy Spirit-(1Corinthians 2)
Another example of what you referenced in Mark 4:24-25 is Luke 19:12-27 (The Parable of the Talents)
I remember what a guest pastor spoke about once. He had a vision of a huge net that resembled a fishing net that was held up by angels over a city filled with a vast abundance of God's extravagant blessings. He asked the Lord what this represented. When the pastor looked at the ropes of the net more closely, he saw the words \"UNFORGIVENESS\" and \"BROKEN RELATIONSHIPS\" written on the ropes. He remembers the Lord speaking, \"I have such an abundance of My blessings waiting to be poured out to my people, but their hearts are far from Me. They have unrepentant hearts of bitterness because of \"UNFORGIVENESS\" and \"BROKEN RELATIONSHIPS\". The Lord is calling us to repent by forgiving as he has already UNCONDITIONALLY forgiven our sins and trespasses. And we are to mend broken relationships with everyone we may have hurt or who may have hurt us.
Thank you again, Michael, for having the ears to hear the Lord's voice.

Michael,
Todays message is so real and relevent to where I am today. For the past few days I have been praying and asking our Father to audiable speak and tell me the name he has for me. I have been struggling and not hearing so today's message is right on target. Thank you so much for sharing your life and for listening to our Father.
In His Love,
Chris

Michael, the truth of what you shared has convicted me greatly. The Lord has been faithful in speaking to me in the ways you mentioned and also through my brethren, and yet I often fail to diligently ponder what He has said and carefully think though and act upon the implications.
I have a brother in the Lord who often reminds me of the danger of lightly esteeming this precious provision of the New Covenant, in which the Lord graciously indwells us by His Spirit to communitate with us at that intimate level. Hebrews 8: 9-13.
May God continue to bless you and prosper every initiative you take to be a blessing to others.
Forever in Jesus,
Leonard

Depending on your season and walk, today's message was a concept to tuck away some day when you hear the Lord, a prod to do something with if you heard the Lord, or an affirmation of what happens when you are as obedient as Abraham. For me, it was a timely prod as I have been dwelling much on what the Lord has spoken to my heart--unfortunately some of it I have yet to act upon.
Thanks for the Biblical kick.
See you next week.

Praise God that your equipment is fixed and you deliver the message with HIS POWER and promise. Thanks for putting in the best of you so we can take away the loaded morsels and grow. Blessings to you!
