Forgive me...
By
December 22, 2008"I would have fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the LORD." Psalms 27:13-14 I got up at 4:00 AM on Saturday when I had really hoped to sleep in a bit. I spent some time with the Lord and I believe He spoke something very significant to me about the times we are in and the upcoming year. It is sobering and yet encouraging. I feel to not share that until after Christmas. Watch for it then. As I write this I am wiping the tears out of my eyes thinking about each one of you. My heart is full of appreciation for your contribution back into my life over the years and I carry you all in my heart wherever I go. As I look to the future, I pray for you all, desiring the very best for you during these times of change. To put it another way, I simply love you all with the love the Holy Spirit has shed abroad in my heart. (Romans 5:5) If that makes you uncomfortable, please forgive me. Watch this video and reflect on God's great gift of grace to you this year. Be sure to have the sound turned up or you will miss the message. Be sure to receive His love as you watch it. Amazing Grace in Lights Make this Christmas one to remember, not for the money you spend or the gifts you give, but rather for the love exchanged with those who are close to you. Be extravagant with your love. Create a lasting memory. Things will be different next year. Take some time over the Christmas season to practice Psalm 27:14 and never forget the previous verse either! I will resume my blogs after Christmas, but will be answering emails concerning the rainforest trip mentioned in Friday's blogs. (Have already received a good number of responses and will be praying over that selection.) With love to you all this Christmas

Thanks Michael,
Merry Christmas brother and may God continue to bless you.
“Father, I thank You for our time together, and I thank You for Michael. I
thank You for Thanksgiving and family and a lot of food left in the fridge. Thank You that we’re not under the Law but grace. Thank You for what that means, and I pray that You would bring clarity to Your children lest they spend the rest of their lives walking in an outdated system that was never built to work.
I pray that You would stir in us affection for You. I pray that the question would just constantly come up in our hearts and minds of what it is that stirs our affections for You and that we would fill our lives with those things knowing that there transformation occurs and there the Law is fulfilled.
Help us. It’s for Your beautiful name.
Amen.â€

many Blessing truly Mike for the spirit of excellence you display, in honoring us in the way you do you honor God. Thank you for the video it blessed and made me smile and remember God has a sense of humor, and even in his quiteness, he can still send out a loud roar, if your listening to his soft message. Thank you very much for reminding me of the words and all he has done for us and all we are accountable to for him through and for each other. You Have a Truly Blessed and joyous close of the year , and open it up with a bang for God..........
I'm sending you two devotionals that blessed me and connect with your video.
Today's Verse from the New Living Translation
When David was settled in his palace, he summoned Nathan the prophet. \"Look,\" David said, \"I am living in a beautiful cedar palace, but the Ark of the LORD's Covenant is out there under a tent!\"
Nathan replied to David, \"Do whatever you have in mind, for God is with you.\"
But that same night God said to Nathan, \"Go and tell my servant David, 'This is what the LORD has declared: You are not the one to build a house for me to live in.' \" …
\"Now go and say to my servant David, 'This is what the LORD of Heaven's Armies has declared: I took you from tending sheep in the pasture and selected you to be the leader of my people Israel. I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have destroyed all your enemies before your eyes. Now I will make your name as famous as anyone who has ever lived on the earth!' \" …
\"Furthermore, I declare that the LORD will build a house for you—a dynasty of kings!\"
1 Chronicles 17:1–4, 7–8, 10b

Encouragement for Today
David desired to build a temple for God. At first this seemed right, to David and even to Nathan, the prophet. But God had a different plan, noble as David's intentions were. God would build David's house, in the form of a dynasty! This promise was fulfilled in Jesus, whose birth we celebrate. When you desire to do something great for God, make sure you find out if your plan is the same as God's. He may have something entirely different in mind … perhaps something even grander than you could have dreamed .
Today's Verse from the New Living Translation
LORD, you know the hopes of the helpless.
Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them.
You will bring justice to the orphans and the oppressed,
so mere people can no longer terrify them.
Psalm 10:17–18

Encouragement for Today
God cares about the helpless, oppressed victims of injustice. Tough questions: Do you? Do you even know people in these categories, or have you insulated yourself? God wants to minister to the helpless, and he means to do so through his people. How are you carrying out God's justice to the helpless? Ask God to give you his heart and show you actions you can take to bring God's comfort and hope to those who cry out to him for help. Jesus came all the way from heaven to a stable in order to bring comfort and hope. What can you do?
