The Whisper Has Weight

"Thus says the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the armor of kings, to open before him the two-leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut; I will go before you, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of bronze, and cut asunder the bars of iron: And I will give you the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the LORD, who call you by your name, am the God of Israel." (Isa 45:1-3) As we begin this year, I want us all to be on the lookout for those things, those opportunities, those ideas, those riches God has hidden in secret places and which He is quite willing to reveal to those who carry His heart. It seems to me that it is paramount that we discover and carry God's heart before we begin looking for His riches. In fact, finding His heart and carrying it is perhaps the greatest treasure of all and it prepares us with the wisdom to carry greater responsibility. If we were to find His riches without finding Him we have gained nothing and risked everything. Jesus said "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness." Think of it is this way, when you find His kingdom, discover His ways and lay hold of His righteousness, you will have the keys to everything that pertains to life and godliness. When we grasp the laws of the kingdom and operate within them, "all these things shall be added to us." So the first treasure to be sought is the knowledge of Jesus Christ. He will lead us into everything else we need that is directly tied to our calling. If you are called to business, get ready to learn witty inventions. Get ready to innovate. Get ready to see that which you have previously missed. Get ready to hear the whisper of God. Some years ago my wife and I were having lunch and the Holy Spirit directed me to immediately go and make a particular investment. Without knowing the current price, the past history or the projected future, we followed the Lord's leading. The person we dealt with asked if we were "in the know" because the price had just begun to move off its low where it had been for awhile. I just smiled. Smiled more later when it increased by over 350% in an environment where other investments were failing all around. Get ready folks... Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him.

Michael, Thank you, encouraging post. All because of our love relationship with God - what a great God we have. Blessings to you, your wife and your ministry in 2008! Dennis

There is a lot going on where someone has been called to a place, is being refined and yet there is not yet the right stuff to live on in that place. Other than ... Psalms 18. And encouraging words like this. Thanks

Most of us 'borrow' so much of our worship language to God. We use words like 'praise', 'worship', 'honor', 'glory' which is fine. Those are the words being used in heaven around the throne all the time according to Revelation. But if we use them and don't konw what they mean it is empty 'praise and worship' don't you think? It is the same as expending all your energy on building earthly wealth while leaving your heavenly account barren and bankrupt. I was floored yesterday to hear my Pastor preach on Revelation 5:12. He asked a pointed question. Why are we willing to worship God by saying,\" Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!\" But leave out the \"WEALTH\" part of this verse... That's right! WEALTH is a part of worship! He (God) gives us the 'power to get wealth\", just like He (God) gives us wisdom, strength, honor, favor, health, peace, purpose, calling, etc. There are some very smart people on this earth that are as dumb as a rock because they do not worship the God who gave them wisdom. There are some very strong people on this earth who are spiritual weaklings! There are some very healthy people on this earth that are still vunerable to death. There are just the opposites too! People with no money who are the richest people in heaven! People who are ignored by world leaders who could access the throne of heaven in an instance and get crisis ending wisdom. And there are some very rich people who are wearing, and driving and drinking/eatting up their money... who are the poorest of the poor. But take everything you have and offer it to God as worship? Not just your words, but your family, your wealth, your favor, your wisdom, your strength, your weaknesses,... it came from Him anyway!!!! That is the highest and purest worship there is. It's the kind of worship that can survive the transition from earth to heaven and land in front of the throne! I hope to live my life in such a way that what I have acquired here on earth can pass with me as a reward I present to the Father in heaven... I don't want to be empty handed when I stand before Him... Cudos Michael on writing about what is truly about... seeking Him FIRST!!!

Hey Mike, As always - thank-you for your obedience to calling it - as the LORD has revealed it to you - (Habakuk 2:1-3]. The LORD is preparing a NEW thing for us to SEE in 2008 - which is HIS FACE - As we draw upon Him, He promises to draw closer to us. The closer He gets, the LESS I become. To get in the way of the LORD, we must diligently get ourselves out of the way - so that He may have preeminence IN and THROUGH us! [Galatians 1:20) Glory to God - for He is faithful to FINISH what he BEGAN in us, moment by moment and day by day! As always, Cheers!

It's true! Thank you for those words. And David, the little guy (like most of us) asked God, do I fight THIS battle? And as long as he followed God's word, he always won. I'll print your words and keep them for reference. They are very encouraging. As I am in meetings of different sorts, I am aware there are certain things I cannot say - like referring to anything Christian. Hard to believe we've come to this place in this country.

Good word Michael. The hardest part is truly being able to discern God's voice from the enemy's or our own. He will always lead us down the path of righteousness, but the other two voices often \"make more sense\".

Some have grown wealthy by following the still small voice. I read of one man who, when begged to invest in a venture, went into his secret closet with the Lord and waited on him and ministered to him. Over the course of time, every investment the Lord directed him to invest in did well. Some of the sure, can't fail ones which he did not invest in, fell flat. A well known man bought and later sold properties at the leading of the Lord. He started with one small property and ended up many years later with assets worth millions. \"You will hear, as it were a voice behind you saying, 'This is the way. Walk in it.'\"

Neat message today and i couldn't resist writing. I'm a trader, stocks and commodities, and a mkt analyst for a wonderful kingdom minded investor. Your words really spoke to my heart today as the Lord has been talking, whispering some things and shouting others lately. What a joy to serve a God who talks about ALL things pertaining to life and Godliness! WOW aren't we blessed!

I'm a mature single Christian woman, with no money to speak of, working to get by, and no education in finances (other than a couple books I've read) and no knowledge of investing. What would you suggest I do to begin securing my future. I know God is my source and He can create from nothing, but I know I have some responsibility to do something. I am basically self-taught and God-taught. My life has been one of trauma for the most part, including every kind of abuse and then rejection and abandonment on top of that. If the people aquainted with me knew the extent of my formal education, they would be shocked. To God be the Glory! I know I am a miracle. Thank you for your consideration of my email. Maidena Young

Dear Maidena Bless you Sister for hanging on and Hanging in there. I wish I knew what literature to help you start with. I first learned the wisdom of man and then have actively sought the wisdom of God. On the wisdom of man and successful theory I learned a lot from a simple little book called the \"richest man in Babylon\" published by a bank a number of years ago. I have since read and heard much else on God's perspective. Hopefully others will be more able to help you more than i. However I would make sure of one thing first. Can you read and understand your bank statement and any bills/ notices you get in the mail? If not, call or go the bank and get them to explain things to you line for line. It really is the beginning of understanding. You are a miracle! May God hold you in the palm of his hand, and as we say here in Texas, \"Vaya con Dios\" Girl!
