Sons in the Marketplace – A “Son” Sees the Shadow!
By
October 24, 2007"Thus says the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held, to subdue nations before him; and I will (1) loose the armor of kings, (Isa 45:1) "Only rebel not against the LORD, neither fear you the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defense is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not." (Num 14:9) God promises Cyrus that He will loose the armor of kings. It means He will enfeeble them. It was not without precedent. In Numbers 14, Joshua and Caleb having returned from spying out the Promised Land with ten other spies, tried to assure the people that although there were giants in the land, their "defense had departed from them and the Lord is with us". It's an unusual expression which quite literally means the shadow or "favor" of God was not with the enemy. Get this picture... You survey the land in front of you and a group of men start approaching you from a mile away. You notice as they walk towards you, a gigantic shadow covers them and you know behind that shadow is a powerful presence and you are terrified. Now suppose you see that shadow lift. It's only the men walking across the field and as you move toward them, the shadow covers you. That's what Joshua and Caleb discerned. They had seen the shadow of God traveling with them through the wilderness. They knew His presence. They had eyes to see. God's shadow is with you. His favor encompasses you. The enemy has no defense against that. You will need your spiritual senses exercised to discern the shadow of God. The other spies did not see the shadow of God. They saw the giants. What do you see? A "son" knows the shadow of his father and confidently trusts in the strength and love behind that shadow. Imagine the confidence and courage you would have walking under that shadow into battle. Well, you do have it. But do you see it? You will be able to see it as you eat His word. A "son" sees the shadow.

Dennis;
Thanks for your comments. I sincerely appreciate you caring enough to share your thoughts. And because you have, I will assume there are others who may share your viewpoint, so allow me to offer this thought...
The last offer I sent out was what I believe to be a very rare opportunity, one that if acted upon by you or others pays me no finders fee or advertising revenue. While I can totally empathize with your comment, I realize that what is too much for one person is exactly sufficient and timely for another.
I appreciate you being able to discern what you need and wade through the rest, knowing that while being of no value to you, it may be a life saver for someone else. (I have actually seen this happen through our emails.) Hope that helps.

AMEN! This is great. I really needed to know that God was for me! I had a rough morning with a person on my sales team and felt like the enemy had conquered me. BUT GOD... He is so wonderful to us to let us know and understand over and over that He will be with us always even to the end. Thanks.

Michael,
This seems to get back to your Raincatcher teaching. It's like if we do what's right on the skill side, we position ourselves to be a place to \"catch\" the blessing from God, much like the Israelites could have if they had listened to the two spies. This is so cool because it's not like a success formula per se, like many of the sales gurus of today teach. Such as, just repeat this phrase to yourself over and over and you guarantee yourself success. While helpful, that ultimately teaches dependence upon our own discipline, while in contrast here, one has positioned themselves to be dependent upon God. Almost like, position yourself properly, and I (God) will give you success. That's awesome stuff!

If you would like to use a modern visual analogy as an equivalent you could look to the movie versions of the Lord of the Rings & The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe ie the shadow of Mordor & the eternal winter of Narnia. Obviously the original books made the same points but the movies really enhanced the understanding.

Hi -- thank you so much for reminding us! We have a patented formula for a fabulously safe cleaning product that my husband has been selling in the Las Vegas area for over 18 years.
We know that we know that we KNOW that God has ordained us to use this formula to create great wealth for the Kingdom. Over the past 18 months, we have been so close to that multi-million dollar deal, yet it hasn't happened yet.
As soldiers of the Lord, we keep believing, decreeing and declaring, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. YET, we still believe and know that we know that God is going to make it come to pass.
We are positioned, we have on the full armor of God, God is our rear guard, and we know that now it's just a waiting game. Thank you for this post; it means a lot to us who are battle-weary, yet have stood when all there is to do is 'stand.'
Sincerely,
Ali Stabley

Awesome God he reigns! You know the battle is in our mind, if we walk with the Spirit of God, his word is very much alive and if we keep our focus on him, allowing the Truth of his Word to be Real, we will be in perfect peace as our Mind rest in him!
Yes and AMEN!
