Coming This Weekend: Online Christian Business Networking

By

August 28, 2007

For quite some time now, many of you have articulated the need for an online community for Christians in business. Many times, the things we discuss in the context of our e-mail messages and blog are only able to scratch the surface of a given subject. We leave many, many topics -- such as current events and public policy, for example -- completely unexplored because this just isn't the most suitable place to get into them. I'm excited to be able to announce to you that many of the needs of an online Christian business community are about to be answered. Many of you are already aware that we're involved in the ChristianBusinessDaily.com website. The team of folks that run that site have officially announced that a complete re-launch will occur over the Labor Day weekend. I can't disclose all the secrets of what's coming, but here are just a few of the all-new features that you'll start to see:
  • News headlines that go way beyond the headlines. You'll find stories that the mainstream media is burying. You'll have the opportunity to discuss them and even participate in the editorial process.
  • An online Christian business directory. Prefer to do business in the Kingdom? Would you like the opportunity to promote your business for what it really is -- a God-owned, Christ-centered enterprise?
  • Weekly teleseminars with Christian business leaders, and other ways to gain and apply Godly business wisdom. In particular, I think you're going to enjoy the new podcast!
  • More of the world-class articles, blogs, commentary, and practical content from folks like Zig Ziglar and Dave Ramsey that have always been an important part of the site -- plus new contributors that you haven't gotten to know yet will be providing fresh perspective and help for you as you work to apply Biblical principles to your business.
Friend, this is one of the biggest developments for believers in the business world that we've seen in a long time. I promise to send you a reminder to check out the site when you come back from your Labor Day weekend. In the meantime, prepare for your business and your work to be greatly impacted!

The notice of a Christian Network is exciting, how do we register?

Great news. Here is a Proverb I read today. Great timing. Do you feel alone as a single proprietor? God instructed, \"It is not good for man to be alone\" (Genesis 2:18, NASB). This also applies to business people. If you work by yourself, you need to gather together with several Christian business people for mutual support. You can then sort through ideas within the group. You can look to the group for help when facing key decisions or wrestling with problems. We all need counsel and support when running a business alone. Band together and don't be alone, and watch as your work performance improves.

Kern, thanks for your response. That is exactly part of what we are trying to implement. Blessings!

The expansion of the family of God into the arena of business, in this new up-coming effort, will be greeted warmly by many God fearing, God loving people! Thank you for allowing God to motivate and to direct efforts needed to create this reality! Bob Park P.S. Can't wait till next week!

One thing that the Internet makes possible is your ability to start a Christian business from home. If this appeals to you it is an excellent way to make money and combine your faith at the same time.
