Think on These Things...

“Finally brethren, whatever things are true… think on these things.†(Phil 4:8) So I ask you, what things are true? Frankly, that’s an area we can spend eternity in without ever getting to the other things Paul tells us to think about. It seems from the next verse that the promised reward for thinking on these things is that the “God of peace will be with youâ€.

Meditating on things that are true will produce peace. And peace is the state I personally need to be in to hear the still, small voice of God. If you are experiencing anxiety or lack of peace, take inventory of what you are meditating on. You may say that you are thinking a lot about the fact that you are in a terrible financial bind and that is the truth.

It may be true that you are in a financial bind, but there is a higher truth. The truth you are struggling with now is a temporary truth, but here’s an eternal truth for you to consider… “Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD your God who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way that you should go.†(Isa 48:17)

Maybe you should spend a little time thinking on this and asking the Father to teach you how to profit not only from your challenging circumstance, but also how to profit so you can get out of the jam you are in. There are simply too many Scriptures I could list that give you practical, applicable insight to remedy your problem, but do you know them? Have you reviewed them? Are you thinking on them? God will speak to you in the midst of His word and give you everything you need for life and godliness! Whatever things are true… think on these things!

Good word Michael. Too often I just want to \"profit\", but God's desires are that I walk in His ways. While His desire is to bless me in all amtters, often the only way He gets my attention is through a little adversity. I have a 3 year old and deal with these concepts every day. Timmy wants what benefits him at the moment. I have to look at what benefits him in the long term. Sometimes they clash... The Hebrew breaks this word out as \" to gain, profit, benefit, avail\" . All of these have multiple applications, including finances. Blessings.

Good stuff. As a man thinks in his heart so is he, Prov. Before you know it out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, Matt. The next thing that happens is \"you shall have what you say\", Mark 11.23. And that will hit a salesman right in the pocketbook. No wonder He said death and life are in the power of the tounge. Just remember it all starts with our thinking. Blessings Bill

This is wonderful. Thank you so much for your obedience to the Lord by sharing with us what He has written on your heart. I like Larry Morris' breakdown of the Hebrew word for \"Profit\" and Bill Ewings' comments too. It is awesome to hear that the Lord is speaking to all of us with some of the same scriptures.

Your teachings are always profitable to me since it is the Truth but today it was a rhema word. OF course, I have read and spoken a multitude of times that particular scripture but now it truly took root in my spirit and not just my mind. Thank you.
