Think Like God

I saw a book the other day in the Christian bookstore entitled, “Think Like a Billionaire”. I picked it up and flipped through the pages, stopping to read a bit here and there. The premise of the book and what I perceive of the intent the author has is good. Think the way a billionaire thinks and you will act the way a billionaire acts and more likely become a billionaire. Of course, you have to be very comfortable with wealth to think like that.

 

The billionaires I have read about, however, do not impress me. Sure, they have tremendous financial resources, but really how much do you really want to be like them? Do you know any whose eternal destiny you would want to share, whose life you would want to emulate?

 

Let’s up the ante. Let’s learn this year to think like … GOD. You know... Have the mind of Christ - In all things. That includes wealth. God is very comfortable with wealth (He owns it all). If owning lots of stuff was a sin, that would make God the biggest sinner of all.

 

God is also very generous, Very loving and Very giving. So how does He think? What is His perspective on wealth? To start, I suggest you set aside some time and pursue Him. Find His heart. Bask in His presence and ask Him to instruct you in these things. We will continue this…

We become whatever environment we put ourselves in.It is human nature.we have never been in the moments to come yet and do not know what will be,only Jesus himself has been.It takes all people different times in their life to accept that Jesus is the way the truth and the life...follow him.Trust and obey,it is the only way to be happy...in jesus.I finally accepted this...not my will...his will be done.I thank Selling Among Wolves, it is the envronment helping me to press on toward the goal in a business environment to keep faithful in Christ.

I am encouraged by your point today, God has been stretching my mind since the beginning of the year with, my thoughts are not your thoughts. So I have been trying to think the way God thinks asking in every situation what would He have done, how would He have handled this or that, and yet you know the more we hang around with our spouses the more we begin to think and react like they do. So I am challenged that the more I 'hang around' with God I will start thinking and acting as He does. Thank you Sharlene South Africa.

Isa. 55:6-13 tells us our ways and thoughts are not God's, nor can they ever be, but that is not a proclamation or curse from God and we do not have to stay in that condition. Quite the contrary, He tells us in Php 2:5, \"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus\" and then in Eph 3:14-21 promises us that, through faith, we can KNOW the magnitude of His love as He dwells in us. My problem is that too many times, I try to think on my own or do things on my own instead of simply trusting Him to lead and guide me. I want to be like Him to the point that there would be a recognizable difference by others, and yet it seems that I often try to integrate the wisdom of the world into my life instead of turning to God's Word. 1Cor. 3:18-19 tells me this is \"foolishness.\" Simply put, I am tired of being stupid. That is one of the reasons that these SAW daily messages are so important in my business life. They remind me of what we already know to do, and that is to \"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.\" Thanks!

To think as God thinks requires more time in His Word so that His Word saturates us to think as He does. I too am being stretched to not think my own thoughts, but rely on the Word I have already hidden and continue to hide in my heart.

This post was \"right on the money\". (pun unintended) The secret to living the Christian life is to know and act from the premise that we have God's Life indwelling us, in our spirit. And just as Jesus lived his life by doing what He saw the Father do in Him, we can live by sensing what Jesus is doing and living out in us. This abiding is very aptly described in he challenge to think like God thinks. I might express that by saying that my goal is to let God think His own thoughts in me. I got a chuckle from the line questioning whether owning lots of stuff is a sin. If so, then God would be the biggest sinnner. How true! He does indeed own everything. This post was very profound, and I am looking forward to the next installment.

Ps 37:4 \"Delight yourselves in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.\" As we delight ourselves in God, and take on His heart, our desires will change to reflect His desires. Then we will find ourselves in a position to receive more of God's blessing; both spiritual and material. What a great thought. Having the mind of Christ covers our Spiritual, Physical, emotional memtal, social and financial life. So it's not about money only. Thanks for today's thought. Gloria
